 The College organized sister institutions in Israel and Russia. The School online for Lifelong Education, offering a non-traditional mentored-based program, was organized in Fall 1989. The College experience, however consists of more than classroom instruction. seeks to foster an atmosphere of warmth, in which close faculty-student relationships, student camaraderie and individualized attention are nurtured in many ways. The Men''s Division, Manhattan Campus provides students with a course of study integrating a challenging Judaic Studies curriculum with a variety of career-oriented academic majors in a supportive Jewish environment. Combining the academic skills needed for success in today''s competitive world with the truths and values embodied in classes Jewish tradition, the Men''s Division seeks to produce a well-rounded and committed member of the Jewish community. Manhattan alumni have excelled in a large number of academic and professional fields and have already begun to assume leadership roles in the Jewish community.Because of its central location, the Manhattan campus enrolls students online from diverse backgrounds, from throughout the United States, Canada and Israel. Honor Societies College recognizes and rewards academic excellence and scholastic achievement in a variety of ways. Students who undertake 15 credits and who earn a semester grade point average classes of online 3.4 or better are named to the College''s Dean''s List and may be named to the National Dean''s List. Top-ranking seniors and juniors are selected annually for inclusion in Who''s Who Among American College and University Students. Three National Honor Societies have established chapters at College. They are Omincron Delta Epsilon, the International Honor Society in Economics and Business, The American Psychological Society, and Alpha Chi, an honor society recognizing general academic excellence. Seniors are selected for membership in these societies on the basis of outstanding scholastic achievement and service to the institution. A staff of experienced counselors is available to help students with personal problems, or emotional difficulties, educational counseling (choosing a major, study skills), and vocational decision-making (appraisal of interests, exploring career options and requirements). students have recently held internships with NBC, USA Network, MTV, Channel 13, The MacNeil-Lehrer News Hour, The Museum of Broadcasting, classes Anglo-Jewish Newspapers, various businesses and major hospitals. On the political and social front, students have interned in the offices of Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY), Senator Conrad Burns (R-MT), Senator John Danforth (R-MO), Former Governor Mario Cuomo, Assemblyman Dov Hikind, and the Rhode Island State Legislature. The School of Career and Applied Studies offers intensive computer science programs as well as English programs, liberal arts courses and career-oriented programs in such fields as business management, accounting and health sciences. Staff and faculty are experienced in responding to the special needs of this population with warmth and understanding, and courses are offered through a network of easily accessible neighborhood based centers.
